Joey, I am fostering a 5 week old kitten. At her appointment

Customer Question

Hi Dr. Joey, I am fostering a 5 week old kitten. At her appointment 10 days ago, she was .8 pounds. She's healthy and eats well, so I imagine she's well over a pound now. I accidentally misread the instructions on her clavamox and gave her 0.3 mLs instead of 0.1 ml. Will she be ok?

Please don't be alarmed. Dosing of Clavamox is variable predicated upon which infectious agent(s) are present and the severity of the infection. The kitten should remain well although transient gastrointestinal distress - inappetence, vomiting and/or diarrhea - may arise. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
