Customer Question

3 days ago, we discovered that our 7 month old kitten had chewed on a rainbow loom bracelet overnight. We have no idea whether or not she actually ingested any of the bands. We have been monitoring her feces to see if she passes any, but so far, we have observed none. Her appetite is great, she's as playful as ever, and she's been having 2 to 3 bowel movements a day. My wife is really worried that she has rubber bands stuck inside her. Should we be worried?

This is Dr. Christian. I'd like to help. Based on everything you've described, I don't think you have to worry. The symptoms of a problem would be lethargy, lack of appetite, belly pain, lack of bowel movements or small ones and especially vomiting. These symptoms should have showed up by now. If you have more questions please reply back.
