My cat is going into the litter tray but not doing anything

Customer Question

My cat is going into the litter tray but not doing anything is she constipated?

I am sorry to hear you are worried about Uma. I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help.

She might be constipated. Is she eating? Most constipated cats will stop eating.

She could also be trying to urinate. Cats with bladder infections will make frequent trips to the litter pan, and strain to urinate, and it can look like she is constipated.
