Customer Question

Hello, is there any alternative for my diabetic cat besides Lantus? If Lantus is the only option, can you recommend a discount card, rebate or a place to purchase for under $300? Thank you.

Yes, before we realized how well Lantus's glargine insulin worked for cats, we commonly prescribed the intermediate-acting NPH insulins such as Humulin-N and Novolin-N. Many cats can be regulated nicely on these inexpensive insulins. There's likely to be a dose change, however, if Mister has been regulated on glargine and a change to NPH is desired. His vet will start him on an initial dose and then adjust that dose predicated upon serial testing of Mister's blood sugars - just as Mister was regulated previously on the glargine insulin. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
