We have one kitten born Friday night. Still has the afterbirth attached and dry. Can we cut it off?

Hello, I'm Dr. Deb. I'll do my best to help you today.
Congratulations on the birth of your kitten; hopefully the delivery process went well as it usually does when it comes to cats.
If there's just a small amount of tissue attached to her umbilicus (where the kitten was attached to the mom), then this tissue will typically fall off on its own in about three days. In many cases, the mom removes it when she's licking and cleaning her babies...well her one baby, in this case.
There's really no need to cut it off although you could if it doesn't fall off on by tomorrow.
