Aloha! You're speaking with Dr. Michael Salkin
I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. The odorless clear discharge is colonic mucus which is produced in excess when the colon is inflamed (colitis). The cause of a colitis, however, may be a dietary indiscretion - a new, inappropriate, or spoiled food (particularly if two cats in the household are affected) or perhaps the ingestion of a non-food item (unlikely if both cats are affected). It's unlikely that these symptoms in such young cats reflect major organ involvement; instead, a primary gastroenteritis should be suspected and therapy is mostly "watchful waiting" and the throwing away of any new dry food or a treat recently purchased. Most cats will remiss unaided within 72 hours.
