I'm incredulous that Tango could have eaten an entire corn cob. I can only hope that he chewed it up well because corn cobs are notorious for obstructing the gastrointestinal tract. There would be no treatment option other than surgery if an obstruction were identified in the ultrasound although in non-critical cases (my patient has remained stable), I might re-ultrasound or X-ray in 12 hours to see if a foreign body has moved farther down the gastrointestinal tract.
