Usually within a week to a week and a half the glands will dry up and the mammary development will go down. It's a good idea to try to keep the kittens from trying to nurse off her during this time and it'll help dry her up faster.

If it's over 2 weeks or if she has a swollen painful gland then I'd get her seen to rule out infection (mastitis).
