is flomax dangerous for cats
Hello there,

Flomax causes dilation of the blood vessels. if a cat ingests and overdose of it, it could cause serious problems. The cat would likely get very low blood pressure, a rapid heartbeat, faint or act lethargic.

What can we do for him now?
How much was ingested?

How long ago?

Is the cat showing any signs of illness?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
It was about an hour ago. It was a flomax 0.4 mg capsule. He let out a few yelps and retreated to the closet.
What color are the gums and insides of the lower eyelids?

Does the heart feel like it is pounding?

Does the cat seem in distress?

I can't get to him, but he seems to be all right.
The treatment in these cases is increased fluids to correct the low blood pressure. Make sure the cat drinks. If the gums look very pale or white or the cat seems to act distressed, have your vet look the cat over. The medication should wear off within 24 hours at most.
