You need to have him evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Pale gums is a sign of low red blood cell count and needs to be asessed by a professional ASAP.

Pale cats can act normally if their red cells have dropped slowly, but most cases of pale gums are time sensitive.

I would head to the vet today, let them know about the pale gums and they should be able to fit you in to their schedule right away. This can be an emergency, so don't wait.
