Hello there,

The average cat life span is longer because of their metabolism. The higher your metabolism, the shorter you live. The average outdoor cat only lives to about five. They get disease or injured. Indoor cats last much longer when these threats are eliminated. In dogs, the larger the dog, the shorter the life span. Many small breeds, like Chihuahuas, can live just as long as a cat.
