Good afternoon,

Common question on our site as customers need their work history for things such as a background check to creating a resume.

In terms of getting a copy of your work history, Social Security is the first method I would suggest as they can for a fee research and send to you your work history going back to when you first paid into the system. It does though take a few weeks to receive a response though:

Other ways that you can retrieve your work history would be:

1. Tax returns will have your W-2 so going back over your past returns can give you a good understanding of your past work history.

2. Sometimes a credit check will offer past work history. You can inquire online about having one pulled as there are free services that you can use:

I hope that this information was found useful as please inform me of any additional questions/concerns you have. Also if you could take a second to rate my assistance so that I know my help was found useful today.

Take care,

Librarian Michael
