I have been in the ER about 6 times in the last year with
Hello, I have been in the ER about 6 times in the last year with random episodes of fast heart rate, high blood pressure, shortness of breath and chest pain. Recently episodes are super close together and now I'm just in this state of being fine at rest but my heart rate jumps 10-15 beats from just a slight movement. I have chest pain constantly. Currently wearing a holter monitor for 1 month. ER said I have Supraventricular tachycardia. My cardiologist won't make a diagnosis until monitor is done in 3 weeks. She gave me propanerolol ER and it worked great besides fatigue but I broke out in hives a week later. Now instead of prescribing a calcium channel blocker she said to have my PCP manage my anxiety with meds. He wants to put me on Zoloft 50 mg daily. I tried Zoloft 2 months ago (25mg) daily but had a bad episode 2 months in so I tapered off. Would you recommend a different anxiety medication? Or nine at all? I'm feeling helpless because I'm scared of an anxiety med making matters worse. Thanks . … read more
