Customer Question
Hi there. About seven months...
Hi there. About seven months ago i experienced periodic irregularities in heartbeat (feeling like "skipping beats" every few mintues) for about 48 hours to 72 hours and went to the e.r. for it. The e.r. gave me magnesium and other mineral boosters and recommended a follow up cardiology checkup with echocardiogram. The problem subsided within two to three days and the echocardiogram was completely normal and the cardiologist said I was probably overcaffeinated and under-rested (with mineral deficiency) at the time of the episode.More recently (in the last few weeks) I've been getting very little rest and having a little more coffee than normal (I typically have two shots of espresso per day but I've been having more like four per day). that same feeling of my heart periodically skipping beats returned (every few minutes) and I stopped all caffeine intake about 7 days ago as a result. I've been trying to get more rest and have been taking magnesium supplements (95% daily value) for about 6 days. The problem has improved slightly but seems to return when I'm anxious or right after I've exercised (I currently go to the gym four times per week for about an hour).I would like to know how to handle this - follow up with another cardiologist or a primary care? Give it more time? I have no other symptoms now that I am aware of other than the periodic irregularity. Any other issues that would be pertaining to caffeine with-drawl seem to have subsided (headaches, fatigue, etc).Thank you.

it sounds like you have a hard time getting enough sleep and you rely on a lot of caffeine to help you have energy.

caffeine is often false energy and causes you to sleep poorly at night time

that is good you are exercising

if you go see a doctor again, they will tell you to cut down on your caffeine and get more sleep, set a set sleep time and exercise regularly

if you have bad anxiety symptoms, you may need treatment for your bad anxiety symptoms
