My dad is 62. He had a heart attack in his LAD just over a year ago. Luckily they got in quickly with a stent and there was no damage. His EF is 55%. All other arteries looked good at time of catherization. He is currently on BP meds, cholesterol meds, and Beta Blockers. Just came off Brilinta about a month ago. He ia currently in Florida on vacation eating and drinking less healthy than he should. Last two days his feet and ankles have been swollen. They get better with rest. Normally he has very skinny ankles and feet. This is new. He has no other symptoms with it and feels good. Just had a physical last week with blood work and doctor was very happy. Is this benign swelling? Could this be heart related?

Hello. I'm Dr Chip
Thanks for your question and I'm reviewing it.
I'll be back in a moment with and answer or a request for more information

Ask Your Own Cardiology Question

No, this isn't heart related and most likely it's just a little fluid overload

Nothing really worrisome but for now he should perhaps limit his fluid intake

Please let me know if you need any more information
