I think you mean gabapentin. Usually antidepressants, including medications in the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) classes, buspirone, or benzodiazepines include alprazolam (Niravam, Xanax), chlordiazepoxide (Librium), diazepam (Valium) and lorazepam (Ativan) are used. Benzodiazepines are used for a short-term (5 weeks) until anitdepressants or buspirone start to work. Gabapentin is not usually used for anxiety.
