Hello and welcome to JustAnswer! I apologize for the extended wait time you experienced, I've only just come online now and would like to assist you with your question.

There are few things that could be going on depending on how the vehicle is equipped. Either way the problem could be with the heater core, or if it's a dual zone system then the blend door on the right side may not be moving for whatever reason.

Do you have a dual or single zone system?

Is temperature between sides even with a/c?

Ask Your Own Car Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
I assume it is a single zone, I only see one set of controls, i did top it of with coolant and was about to due a pressure test.
My first reaction was maybe a stuck vent door or something,
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Ok, i have ac on and am still getting warm air flow out of driver side and cool out of passenger side
Auto Mechanic: sprinkles08, ASE Certified Technician replied 1 month ago

Does temperature change at all on the right side?

Ask Your Own Car Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Not that I can feel... i can use temp gun if u like
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
When i was running it earlier i thought i felt boiling in the upper radiator hose and only luke warm on lower hose... stuck thermostat? No temp light.
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
By temp gun I meant infrared therm meter.. sorry
Auto Mechanic: sprinkles08, ASE Certified Technician replied 1 month ago

It sounds as if you still have air in the cooling system. Make sure it's full and bleed it, see if that changes anything.

Sorry for the late reply....
So yes, I have pressure tested the coolng system, installed a new water pump, new thermostat, back flushed the heater core, back flushed the radiator, back flushed the by pass pipe, hooked up the system and back flushed the system as a whole. Refilled the system with an automatic refill and bleeder. With heater on still blows hot on driver side vents and cool on passenger side vents. With a/c on blows hot on drivers side vents and cold on passenger side.

How was the system bled?

Ask Your Own Car Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
I used a funnel kit with a radiator cap adaptor which is supposed to keep out air pockets, I ran the vehicle at 2500 rpm for about 6 minutes.
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Is there a better way to bleed all the air out?
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
I guess i don't understand why half the vents would be hot and half the vents would be cold lol... but lets make sure i bleed it correctly
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
What do u suggest
Auto Mechanic: sprinkles08, ASE Certified Technician replied 1 month ago

Six minutes may not have been long enough, especially if working outside. The engine needs to reach operating temperature and the thermostat open, draw in cold coolant from the radiator and close again, open again; only once the engine is staying at full operating temperature and no more air comes out can the cap be installed. This may take twenty minutes of running.

If you have a single zone system and there is a temperature difference between sides it is due to air in the heater core or coolant flow through the heater core is restricted.

What would you suggest for best bleeding technique ?... cap off...raise front of vehicle... raise rpms?
Auto Mechanic: sprinkles08, ASE Certified Technician replied 1 month ago

A bleed funnel should be installed and the engine ran for at least twenty minutes, more if necessary. RPM's may need to be raised periodically to force air out of the heater core, etc.

I have a Volvo XC 60 2012 model. I have got a terrible noice from the right side front end. The noice comes and goes, I get a terrible motion at the steering wheel. I have controlled brakes, no temperature at all. I have noticed a bearing at the right drive shaft, can it be this shaft / bearing who makes the sound and motion in the steering wheel?.
