My AFS LIGHT is blinking. It’s continues to blink, I’m

Customer Question
My AFS LIGHT is...

My AFS LIGHT is blinking.

Mechanic's Assistant: Just to clarify, can you tell me which light it is? And does it blink first, then stay on steady?

It’s continues to blink, I’m trying to change my headlight and I just bought a new HID light to put it in and it still doesn’t come on

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car?

Infiniti M35 2007

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your M35 yourself? What have you tried so far?

Yes, and I’ve bought 3 HID lights and none of them work. I’m guessing it’s my ballast.

I'm assuming the high beam works fine? Would you like procedure to replace the ballast?

Ask Your Own Car Question
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
it does.. i don’t have an extra ballast on me.
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
that’s what you think the problem is? The ballast?
Auto Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 5 months ago

You will need to order one off ebay but I can tell you how to test to make sure that is problem. Did the blinking afs and headlight not working start at same time?

Ask Your Own Car Question
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
No I didn’t notice it until I replaced it after the 3rd bulb.
Auto Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 5 months ago

At the ballast the black/yellow wire should have good ground and the red/black wire should have good power. If both are good replace ballast. If no power on red/black wire check the 15 amp fuse in location 86 of fuse box under hood. If fuse is good with power at fuse but no power at ballast then the red/black wire is damaged somewhere. The ballast is most likely the problem but it is possible there is something else causing th AFS light to flash but getting headlight working is step 1. Here are replacement instructions, you will need to let half the bumper hang down so you can remove headlight assembly. My goal is to provide 5 star service so please let me know if you have any questions, thanks.
