what happens when it is cold? it just cranks over but doesn't start?

I can put an electric heater under it and cover front end with a tarp and when it warms it starts the first time

this is usually caused by a bad temp sensor so I would start there.

if the issue persists, you will want to check for spark and fuel while cranking cold to further narrow down the cause, but I suspect it is the temp sensor. .
