no
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
The only indication has been the check engine light and the VSA light

Ok i mean for the lights to come on the engine control system has seen something its not happy with .however if valves were burnt normally you would have a missfire not always all the time but in most cases felt on idle

I don't recall feeling a missfire at all. This is not an every day car. I drive a service truck for work. I only put about 3,000 mile per year on it.

I'm just wondering how I can have burned valves on a vehicle that I hardly drive.

Ok the only way they can tell this is with a compression tester .this measures pressure built up in cylinder on the compression sweep .if valves are burnt they dont fully close and allow some compression to leak out .its difficult to say but not unheard of on low milage cars .short journeys can cause oil to emulsify because of condensation created by the engine not getting fully hot and can cause this type of issue over a period of time

Ask Your Own Car Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
i don't know if a compression test was done. They said that they scoped it.

I would want compression readings from engine its the only way to test other than a cylinder leakage test

Ask Your Own Car Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
what would i be looking for on the compression readings?

What size engine do you have ?
