If you pull the number #5 plug wire are you getting a good spark out of the wire to the spark plug with the engine running?

Ask Your Own Car Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
I have not tried it so I don' know at this time. I just had a tester put on it and that is what it said, that it was miss firing on number 5

The usual cause for this type of misfire is normally either a failing spark plug and or the spark plug wire. I would start with checking to see if you have a nice blue spark at the spark plug out of the spark plug wire and if so, remove the spark plug and see if it looks fouled out. If it looks okay then try swapping it with the one next to it and see if the misfire moves with it. If it does then that would indicate the spark plug has failed.
