Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Frontier V6 yourself? What have you tried so far?

Tried resetting alarm with key and fob...now fob will not work. I have 2 colored security lights flashing...one red with word security under it and one blue with no lettering.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Was working on car earlier but did no electrical work. Just oil change.

It must as I can hear it chirping when I try to start car. Lights blinking above security on panel.

Ok..tried resetting alarm...only succeeded in disabling the fob.

Try holding fob in lock and unlock for about 5 seconds then try to start

Ok...friend arrived to help. Disconnected battery to see if we could reset system...no alarm goes off full bore when we reattach battery or open door

Aftermarket fob I programmed with car

Ok disconnect battery again, attach both cables to each other for a bout 5 min. This will drain any residual power , then reattach. Wit door closed hold fob lock position for about5 seconds then open the same. try that.

No luck

ok the next thing is to try to recycle the key. You have to do this with your foot off the brake pedal so it does not go into start mode. With foot off the brake pedal push the start button on and off 5 times within 5 seconds then try to start.

If you do then that is not a smart key and you just have to turn to on [not to start position] and off 5 times within 5 seconds then press brake and start.

If none of those procedures work then it will have to have a shop scanner hooked up to re-set the immobilizer.
