I have a Volvo S80 2001 message come up No oil pressure and it will not start. Checked oil and it's ok. What could the problem be?
JA: How old is your oil pump? Has the check engine light come on?

JA: Are you fixing your S80 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No, having tried anything

Hi Im David, thanks for visiting the site, if the oil pressure/level sensor is bad han the computer will pick up no pressure or level and will prohibit the engine from starting as a safeguard.

this could be the problem? If so what need to be done to fix this problem?

yes it could be the problem. you need to have an oil pressure test done, first and foremost to make sure its actually getting oil pressure. if so then the oil pressure sensor will need replaced.

David, I need to take it to a deal to have this done is that correct?

no, you can take it to a small neighborhood mom and pop shop, the should have the test equipment. call around, try to stay away from the dealer if possible.
