I've got a 2008 Gem E4 - and got the 81 & 82 messages, crippled mode, etc. I noticed a small crack in my Sensor magnet. Could that likely cause it? (Also, my batteries are "iffy" so am wondering if low voltage may add to this message). I cleaned all the sensor connections and did not help. Do you happen to know where I could get a replacement magnet too? Thanks!
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: I just got the car. So in the last 2 weeks.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Yes
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: No, that's it.

I am sorry that you have not been helped yet. I just came online and saw your question

Yes, any defect in the sensor magnet, whether a gouge, a crack, or chunk missing will cause this issue.
