Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be attempting to help you today. Have you tested how many volts the alternator is putting out?
Hi. Have you put a voltmeter on the battery with the truck running to see what the charging voltage is? If any.
By the fact that it loses power while driving I would suspect the battery is not being charged. Sometimes when an alternator fails it can blow a fuse. Make sure all the fuses in the engine compartment are good.
If the alternator is not charging because a blown fuse, or whatever reason, the electronics in the truck will kill the battery while driving it.
Ok. Do that and let me know. You really should check the voltage of the battery with the truck running also.
The square ones?
I agree. would be helpful to know if its actually charging. But to check the square fuses there is a sight glass in the top and you can look into it to see if the 2 fuse wires are burnt or not.
with a volt meter across the battery terminals.
Ok you are welcome. Please take a moment to rate my assistance also. Thanks and let me know.
