are you aware of any accelerator problems?I was unable to place car in gear from park to Drive . i depressed brake petal , shifted then into D drive and car accelerated very quickly into high gear about 50 + MPH

No. THere are no known concerns like that on the GMC. It is also normal to have to press the brake pedal to shift from park to drive. If you have unintended accleration you may want to check your floor mat and verify that it is not stuck up causing interference with gas pedal.
