Mechanic thinks head gasket problem.
No smoke from tailpipe.engine not overheating, not idling rough...
Mechanic wants to: ***** ***** new head set,timing cover set,head bolt set,etc for total of $2014.

please clarify, a 5 cylinder???? what motor do you have???

when I know that, I can get you an estimate.

from the little info you provided, it may have a blown head gasket which is a good reason for not having heat

ok, the labor is 10 hours on the head. add the re built head and all accessories and it looks like about 1500

why is going to replace the timing cover gaskets???
