Mitsubishi Eclipse GT: Cannot remove the left cv axle from

This answer was rated:

Cannot remove the left cv axle from transmission to repair leak. Tried to pry.
Hello, If prying with a 3 foot pry bar and using a slide hammer have not broke it loose you have one more option. That would be to remove the RH axle and use a long brass drift to knock the LH axle out via the hole where the RH axle came from. There's a small circlip that holds the axle in and sometimes they do get stuck and the method above has to be used. For your reference here is the factory info on removing the shafts.
