This answer was rated:

Have a 2012 SRX with a Cracked FRONT MOUNT OEM Part# XXXXX have purchased a new item recently. Can this Front Mount be replaced without supporting the engine as is the case with lower engine mounts?

is this the mount here in this picture ?

HI Gary,

Yes, this is the Mount in question

Ok Dave these are very easy to change

now that front mount you are changing if the engine is not supported it will drop down somewhat

the best way to change these mounts is to put a floor jack under the car with a block of wood on the jack pad or something soft position the jack under the passenger side of the oil pan lightly jack up the jack until it makes contact with the oil pan and then in like 1 or 2 jack pumps it should take the weight and pressure off that mount which them remove the 4 bolts and 1 nut and change the mount

when you have enough pressure off it you will know because the bolts will come out with ease and no pressure on them

that's the trick to changing this mount

once the new one is in remove the jack
