Isuzu Rodeo: Hi I have a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo, LS, 3.2L V6 4X4

Customer Question

Hi I have a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo, LS, 3.2L V6 4X4 with 120K miles. The problem is that it is hard to start when it warms up. Other than than that it runs and idles great. The Haynes Repair Manual states it may be caused by fuel is not getting to the fuel injectors and to check for a vapor lock situation,(that is what it feels like to me), brought on by a clogged fuel tank vent line.
How do I check for a clogged fuel tank vent line?
Or do you have a better idea what could be causing the problem.

good evening my name is Roy and I will assist you tonight.

First, I would check the fuel pressure. to low pressure will cause this issue. you can rent a tester at a parts store to verify if it is correct.

the fuel pressure should be 48-55 lbs.

HI Roy

I took your advice and rented a fuel pressure test kit from a nearby parts store. The pressure reading was @ 35 lbs. I ordered a new fuel pump. hope that fixes the pressure problem.
