Land Rover freelander: hello

Customer Question

Make: Land Rover
Model: freelander
Year: 2005
What have you tried so far?: Test continuity with one of the coil pack none at all. Turn the ignition, dash board lights but nothing after that. Replaced ignition, still the same problem, checked every fuse inside and out, including the three outside of the ECM box. If I run a wire from the starter directly to the battery then the engine will turn over but will not start. Fuel pump is working because  fuel is coming out of the fuel rail from the pressure valve if depressed.  Replaced battery. Lastly, can't get any codes from diagnostic set because it does not power on the machine. Don't know where to go from here

Hello, I'm Chris. Thanks for visiting Just Answer.

With the key in the run position is the theft light showing an issue?

With the key held in the start position is there power to the fuse 5 under the dash?

It would be a light in the instrument cluster, I can not get a owners manual download to open to verify its exact location in the cluster.

okay. I will check. It will be later today.

Based on the current info I have. I believe your going to find the theft system triggered and the computer has shut down the vehicle and is preventing it from starting.
