Honda CR-V ex: I have a 2005 Honda CR-V with 181,000 miles

This answer was rated:

2005 Honda CR-V with 181,000miles. Has never given me any trouble before.. Within the past week, noticed a high-pitched whine or squeak, seeming to emanate from the passenger side tires/wheels..area. Doesn't seem to be related to brakes...sound does not change with app/release of brakes...does continue as long as wheels are rolling. CV or U joint???

I would recommend having the brakes looked at. Lots of brake pads have a wear indicator built into them which is nothing more than a piece of metal that will contact the rotor when they get down to a certain point. A worn CV axle will make a click noise when turning so I don't think that is the issue, and any worn suspension parts will not make a noise only when the wheels are turning. Even a worn wheel bearing will make a growl noise or vibration, but not a high-pitched wine
