Jaguar XJ8: Why has the seat/mirror memory buttons on the drivers

This answer was rated:

Why has the seat/mirror memory buttons on the drivers side front seat quit being able to remember the presets?
Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If you are unable to program memory positions or are having continued problems with it losing memory then you likely have a problem with the memory module. It's also possible that it could be losing power or ground due to a wiring or connection problem, but would more likely be the module.

If you haven't already, what I would recommend is first disconnecting the battery to clear the module's memory. Reconnect it and then attempt to program memory settings and see if it works.

If you are unable to program settings at all or they work and then stop again then it's likely a module issue.

If you get no response from the system it could also be a failed switch, whose input can be looked at on a scan tool to see if it's functioning.
