You mechanic should know how to do a "key off draw" test. Basically he needs to hook an ammeter in series with one of the battery cables and pull each fuse one at a time and see when the drain goes away. This will show which circuit is causing the problem.
If he doesn't know how to do this I can help you do it yourself. All you need is a test light or a multimeter.
Let me know if you would like me to help you with the testing.
