Does anything change the sound?

I received a smiley face.

I am wondering is when hot or cold it changes. Or new oil additives have been tried.

You likely have a faulty lifter which is not uncommon. Many times just using an additive will make the sound go away to a great extent.

I would recommend using lucus engine oil stabilizer to help.

If the problem does not change try running some seafoam through the engine this will help clean it up.

If all else fails replace the lifters on that side.

Thanks!
