Trying to eliminate possibilities for water leaking/sloshing

This answer was rated:

Trying to eliminate possibilities for water leaking/sloshing in passenger and driver side. Have tried the cleaning of drainage tubes, sunroof, etc. with no success. Appears to be rain leaking in as well as air conditioner leaking. When water from garden hose is run along the bottom half of windshield there is leaking in the car. A mechanic told us that windshields rarely leak...what is your opinion? Is there a way to fix without removing the windshield?
Thanks for trusting us with your problem. I have trained in the automotive field and currently work as a lead technician. I will be helping you today

Not sure what mechanic has never seen a leak but they do. You have verified this to be true.

You can pull the windshield back and re seal it using the black weatherstripping from 3m. If the seal is really torn up you will want to get a new windshield seal.

You can get the 3M weatherstrip glue from any napa store.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX this! Seems as though we have two problems going on. Did you mean pull the black guard around the windshield back? We can do this without taking the windshield out, correct?
That is correct the guard is the seal. They wear out all the time. Excessive amounts of water on a worn out seal will begin to leak excessively.

You need to fix this before moving on. Stop that water leak and this will make it easy to find any other leaks as this is a main cause to leaking on many cars.

Thanks!
