1979 Ford: clearence problems..oil pan and tie rods and sway bar

Resolved Question:

I have a 1981 AMC Spirit that I am putting a 1979 Ford 302 and C-4 auto. in, I am having clearence problems between the oil pan and tie rods and sway bar. Any suggestions on how to resolve these issues would be appreciated.

Sounds like an interesting swap........
a) raise engine on the mounts
b) move engine mounts back or forward (depending on clearance)
c) look for a Oil Pan with reverse sump, or have a welding shop modify the one you have

d) go with a "dry sump" type pan. It is flat & you would use a outboard Oil Pump, rather than the Oil Pickup & stock Pump
