Resolved Question:

I have a 96 discovery. there no spark on #2&3 cylinders, changed wires changed coil, checked and there is 12 to the coil. it acts like it is not getting the signal to fire.

If it is only those two cylinders and everything else is ruled out it can be a bad ECM. The power train computer can fail in that manner.

No the on code was multiple misfires

Then it is probably the ecm, I would recommend a diagnostic to confirm before you replace the computer. The dealer or a good shop might be able to confirm it is the ecm, but in some cases you just have to try a known good one to find out.
