Fiat punto: XXXXX XXXXX plate fiat punto stalls when idling after

This answer was rated:

My 56 plate fiat punto stalls when idling after it has been filled with fuel. when the fuel level drops it runs fine.

This problem is commonly caused by excess fuel finding its way into the evaporative emissions system. Can happen from overfilling the tank just a little on nearly any modern car, or some models may have this issue when just filling to full.
What happens is the excess gasoline ends up running out of the filler neck, and stays pooled in the evap canister and vent valve tubes.

Try not "topping off" the tank every time, and have the evap system checked for contamination at next service. Hope this is helpful!
