2003 Suzuki Aerio: rebuilt..it was idling..oil pressure..warmed

Customer Question

just rebuilt the J20A in my daughters 2003 Suzuki Aerio. When my brother and I got it started it was idling at 1000 rpm's and the oil pressure was on 65 psi. After it warmed up to operating temp the car shut off as if turning the key off. Now the engine can only be turned approx 180 degrees with a socket and breaker bar. Any suggestions?

Randy :

Sorry to hear of your trouble with Suzuki Engine,

Customer:

thanks, XXXXX XXXXX of been a pain

Randy :

Nothing hardly ever turns out simple as planned,

Randy :

Give me a moment and I will give you possible causes,

Customer:

ok

Randy :

There are almost to many possibilities to list,

Randy :

The first thing I would do is process of elimination,

Randy :

Unbolt torque converter from flywheel and check to see if engine will turn,

Randy :

Then check for chain and sprocket to camsahft and oil pump problem,

Randy :

Most everything else will require engine removal,

Customer:

ok, i'll try that
