Puma..disable Traction control (and abs) when doing heavy sand driving

Resolved Question:

I have a Defender Puma, 2008. I am about to visit Namibia and the Desert!

Is it advisable to disable Traction control (and ABS) when doing heavy sand driving? Is the only way to either to insert a switch in the circuit, or pull the fuse when required?

I would appreciate an answer on this!

My apologies for the delay.......thank you for your patience...

Yes, it is advised that you disable traction control and ABS when doing "heavy sand driving".......but not all the time....even on sand.....
And when doing heavy sand driving, you are also advised to deflate you tires, to the point that you have more tire touching the ground....
Of course, you inflate once you get back to regular driving (even on sand), and get the ABS and TCS on as well....
Removing the fuse is the safest way.

Thank you for trusting JA and myself.......get back to me if further info is needed.....positive feedback and bonuses appreciated...
