99 Discovery II with a heated windscreen inop..fuses

Customer Question

99 Discovery II with a heated windscreen inop. No switch for the front and was told it was auto, The rear has a switch and works fine. All fuses are good. With the car running I have 12 volts on the primary side, neg terminal of the heated windshield relay. If I ground this wire PNK/BRN by my schematic, I have power to the windshield connector. My question is if the BCM is supposed to ground this wire what tells it to turn on the heated windshield and how is it tested?
