change the left rear brake bulb on a 2007 lr3..easiest way to do that

Hi: I need to change the left rear brake bulb on a 2007 LR3. Not sure if its the upper or lower one? Can you give me the easiest way to do that? My daughter had her DMV driving test and they failed my LR3 due to mechanical (break light out) :(. Please help!!! Thanks! Joe

Hello, you have to remove the screws in the edge after gate open. then kind of pull on slight angle to release the 2 clips still holding the light assy. All hulbs can be changed from there
ear Lamp Assembly

  1. Open the liftgate and tailgate.

CAUTION: Always protect paintwork and glass when removing exterior components.

  1. Remove the rear lamp assembly.
    • Remove the 2 screws.
    • Release the 2 clips.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.


  • Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
  • Note the fitted position.
  1. Remove the wiring harness.
    • Release the wiring harness from the 2 clips.
    • Release the 6 bulb holders.
    • Release the electrical connector.


  1. Install the wiring harness.
    • Install the 6 bulb holders.
    • Install the electrical connector.
    • Secure the wiring harness in the clips.
  1. Install the rear lamp assembly.
    • Connect the electrical connector.
    • Secure with the 2 clips.
    • Tighten the screws.
  1. Close the tailgates.
