hello, ihave a daewoo 1.5 sohc 8v and i turbocharged it on stock internals,i have upgraded fuel pump ,injectors, fuel regulator,port and polish,skimmed camshaft,intercooler,sports exhaust,unichip(sports ecu),retarded the timing,and compression is 8.5.1, turbo is hybrid t3 t4,do you think 8 psi is safe?

do you have any method for retarding the ignition on boost? and what fuel are you using?

yes with the unichip ,it will retard the timing every 1 psi .thanks

In that case you'll probably get away with 8Psi although this is marginal with a stock piston and I'd recommend fitting an exhaust temperature probe -pre turbo if you keep below 900deg C you should be OK

Also use a high quality fully synthetic oil and fit an oil cooler as this will help extend piston life

you may want to consider a water injection kit pre-turbo with the nozzle pointing directly at the centre of the turbine to prevent any blade erosion as this will boost power and extend piston life
