what is the firing order for a 1976 International Scout engine

This answer was rated:

what is the firing order for a 1976 International Scout engine 304 cc ?

Firing order 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

Distributor rotation is clockwise. To find the correct position on the cap you must set the engine at top dead center, remove the cap and where the rotor is pointing is the correct #1 position. Hope this helps.

Wonderful! Is Number 1 cylinder on the left bank facing the engine? and can I ask you another International question?
The #1 cylinder is on the drivers side. If you are facing the engine, it will be on your right hand side. Drivers side cylinders from front to back are 1-3-5-7 Passenger side cylinders are 2-4-6-8

You are sooo good! One last question that has us stumped is how do you remove / replace the Key/Ignition cylinder from the steering column?

You'll have to remove the steering wheel, then the turn signal switch. Below that there is a pin that unscrews and the cylinder will then pull out.
