when I park my 9-5 with 3.0l after driving, coolant leaks onto the pavement. Is this a problem with the thermostat? How do I tell?

Most likely its a water pump but you will need to get a pressure tester and pump air into your radiator. When the pressure gets to the same amount that is on the radiator cap stop. watch for leaks. You may want to test your radiatyor cap also. Also a loose clamp on a hose may be letting coolant out. its nice to start with a clean dry engine.
