A 93 convertible and I pulled out the handle that releases the roof

This answer was rated:

I have a 93 convertible and I pulled out the handle that releases the roof. Now it doesn't hold in. What can I do now?
Did it actually break ?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
No - nothing looks broken... it slides all the way into the holes and can be pulled back out again
So it will not lock with the handle?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
It will lock, but I can pull the handle clean out of it's holder so that it is left in my hand. It must be a fault with the mechanism that prevents the handle being pulled straight out.
Yes its actually broken which is common the release handle needs to be replaced for this .You can get the part at a salvage yard for about 30 to 50 dollars and have it installed for about 50 .You need to start here next .

Hoped this helped.
