2006 Mazda: oil change..temp gauge..blew..traffic but read cool when I…

Took my 2006 Mazda 5...
Took my 2006 Mazda 5 to get an oil change n when I picked it up after within an hour my temp gauge started dancing and turns out that my radiator blew so had the radiator replaced with the thermostat housing and a new radiator cap and now after that my car overheats when it's in stop n go traffic but read cool when I'm on the fwy. What is it that is wrong. I checked the thermostat and works fine.

Greetings Sir or Madam and welcome to JA! I will do my very best to assist you with your problem.
Check the cooling fans and make sure they come on when they should. You can do it quickly by turning the A/C on and make sure the fans kick on like they should. If they don't it is possible they are unplugged or there is some other electrical issue like a fuse or bad fans. This is where I would start with this. Hope this helps!
