A year old car battery and cracked the case..12 volt..volt battery

Customer Question

I dropped a year old car battery and cracked the case (very expensive 12 volt battery) and the battery acid came out of one end. Is there a way to fix it and use it, or is it just toast????

Unfortunately, it is just toast.

There is no repair that will hold up to battery acid leaking..

With that being said, battery acid is nothing that you want exposure to. Battery acid will eat right through about anything it touches and has the potential to cause a fire...

Thanks, Josh

Thanks....I was afraid of that, but the battery was $150....

I did the same thing with a gel cell battery a few years ago. The worst part for me was that I had it sitting on my garage floor and forgot about it until I backed into it with my truck...

I feel your pain....Thanks, Josh
