LS: 6cyl..mirror..compass and temp taken out of an 04 LS...pins

Resolved Question:

I have a 03 LS 6cyl into which I would like to install a Gentex 310 auto dimming mirror with compass and temp taken out of an 04 LS. The clipped pigtail has 8 of 16 pins occupied. Three wires are bundled in a foil insulator, the remainder are brn,yel/blk,yel/grn,brn/blu, & wht/blu. Any hints on what functions/connects these relate to?

Here is the pinout for a 16pin Gentex mirror.

1 = Grey = not used
2 = Bare = Microphone for OnStar Mirrors
3 = "Passenger Air Bag on" notification
4 = "Passenger Air Bag off" notification
5 = auto day/night signal from LH outside mirror
6 = Brown = Temp probe connection
7 = Green/Black = Temp probe connection

8 = Black = Ground
9 = Light Green = Reverse Dim Inhibit
10 = Gray = Microphone
11 = Dark Green/White = keypad signal (out)
12 = Light Green = keypad +5v supply (in)
13 = Yellow = +12V switched (ignition)
14 = Yellow/Black = Green LED signal
15 = Brown/White = Red LED signal
16 = day/night signal to LH outside mirror

Your colors don't seem to match up exactly but you should be able to hook it up according to pin location.

Thanks. Any chance a connector exists in the overhead console? I haven't looked yet, but the headliner has a gap that is in the correct position for a harness.

I'm not sure if there is a factory connector installed. A quick peek above the headliner should reveal the answer though.
